The Rome Restaurant (as the name suggests) is a Rome themed restaurant situated just outside central Bangkok. The elaborate decor, endless photo opportunities and open-air setting make it worth the 40 minute drive.
Seating is arranged within a sunken pool adding to the atmosphere. There is also a stage in the corner for bands to serenade you with Thai classics.
The menu is both Thai and Western and it is very reasonably priced. However, the main draw to The Rome Restaurant is definitely the photo opportunities.
Despite taking many artistic liberties in it’s interpretation of the beautiful city, in every corner you will find a different Roman inspired backdrop to pose with.
One of the most magical additions has got to be the toilets within the colosseum itself, filled with toga-clad gladiators and marble columns.
We’d recommend arriving for sunset when the place is at its most picturesque.
We’d recommend booking a table in advance through their FB page. It’s definitely a more affordable way to get those Instagram worthy photos than buying a flight to the city itself. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip!
