Stories to Tales Theatre provides a new and innovative way to work out. You are harnessed into a bungee jumping cord and taught a variety of matrix style moves that work core muscles and lower abdomen, whilst laughing the whole time.
The class begins with a 15 minutes intense warm up on the floor, really stretching every muscle. Then, you are strapped into a harness and attached to the wall.
The teacher guides you through a range of moves requiring a lot of strength including lying backwards, lifting yourself on the ropes with your arms, propelling yourself from the wall. This lasts for about 45 minutes. Our instructor was brilliant and extremely funny adding to the whole experience.
The session concludes with all the moves being put to music to form a simple ‘dance.’ However, you definitely don’t need any dance experience or love of dance to have fun and join in.
Aside from Vertical Dance, other classes are available such as jazz, ballet and pilates. Another class that particularly caught our eye was the bungee dancing on the floor, and we plan to return to try that one!
We loved the whole experience and definitely recommend trying it out, or at least checking out more of their videos on Facebook! If you do plan to visit, make sure you book in advance as class size is limited to 9 people.
