Surrounded by greenery and farm animals, Root Garden is far from the usual cafe in Bangkok. Located on a busy road down Thong Lo it provides the perfect and convenient getaway from urban life.

Within the cafe they serve freshly brewed coffee, organic juices and smoothies as well as fresh eggs hatched on site. There are also many delicious looking cakes and desserts. However, don’t head here with the intention of enjoying a large lunch as they don’t serve an extensive selection of savoury items. The menu is limited to Garden Salad (80 baht) Garden omelette (99 baht) or Pork Satay (69 baht).

There’s also the opportunity while visiting to wander around the farm and feed the chickens and goats, which can appeal to both children and adults alike. The animals are extremely friendly and very well kept. For those of you who are hygiene conscious there are hoses to wash your hands and bathrooms with soap and disinfectant.

There are rows of crops and plants that you can wander around and water if you wish. We were told you can even take the opportunity to plant your own crops. Check Root Garden’s Facebook page for regular updates on events that are going on.

Although smaller than photos on the internet would suggest, Root garden is worth a visit for a quick wander and a fresh coffee.
