Located on the 32nd floor of the Millennium Hilton hotel, this sky bar offers incredible views over the Chao Phraya River and Bangkok’s sky line. The sky bar resembles something from a Sci-Fi movie due to its oval shape and sloping windows. A huge advantage is that it is covered, allowing for a cooler air con experience, and even an opportunity to visit a sky bar in the rain.
When we visited on a Saturday evening, the bar was pretty empty but this didn’t ruin the atmosphere. Service was quick and friendly and the staff were straight over to re fill our 241 drinks. The music fitted the atmosphere, and although a stage for a performance was set up, we unfortunately didn’t see any performers. Free snacks were brought to our table straight away consisting of crackers and nuts, a nice touch.
The views from the bar are stunning looking out onto the Chao Phraya river and you can see many of the nearby sky bars such as Lebua. Unfortunately the sun sets at the back of the bar where there isn’t any seating, but you can see it over your shoulder behind you.
We opted for 5 tapas dishes. Salmon tartar, scallops with truffles, grilled king prawns, mozzarella sticks and baby octopus salad. There isn’t too extensive a choice on the menu, but the dishes were extremely well made. There were also many non sea food options on the menu. The tapas offer is a very good deal. The bar also provides a picnic basket deal which you can enquire about for special occasions.
A great option for a hot and sweaty or rainy day. An excellent cheaper alternative to neighbouring sky bars such as Lebua.
