We stumbled across this little gem after eating at Zeppelin Sky Bar in Phra Khanong. It advertises itself as a “new hang-out space of art and urban lifestyle” and we’ve got to say it isn’t wrong. The dining section has a beer garden feel to it and it is open air, making it is much less sweaty that its neighbouring On Nut night market. However, if it rains there is very little alternative than to simply get very wet. There’s grass on the floor and high tables to sit at creating a modern night market feel, along with strange and different art works and graffiti to look at and explore.
Around the beer garden there is an array of food stalls with both Western and Thai cuisine at very cheap prices. The food stalls open from 6pm and are open until midnight. Live bands can also be found to play on weekends. We recommend The Cocktail by Akanachai (sister to the one located in On Nut market) the cocktails are cheap and delicious. The owner used to mix cocktails for the Sheraton where they would have been extortionately priced, yet here you can sample this great quality at a fraction of the price (120 baht)! Our drink of choice is the lychee martini.
From speaking to people and looking at the website, it is clear the market hopes to expand and also hold many shops, however, at the time of visit many shop fronts were still unoccupied, but the potential can be seen.
