Icedea is an ice cream parlour with a twist. It sells unique ice cream flavours such a wasabi, global warming and earl grey flavours but also creates quirky dishes made from ice cream such as steak and chips, sushi or Grandma’s teeth! These experimental flavours and dishes are not only pleasing to the eye, but also taste delicious.
When we visited we opted for the steak and chips and Grandma’s lemonade. The steak is made from ice cream topped with a layer of chocolate-caramel syrup to imitate the lines in a seared steak. The ice cream flavour will vary depending on how you want your steak done. Medium rare consisting of brownie and pink milk, well done steak consisting of creamy hazelnut, and finally fillet steak consisting of banana caramel. The steak is served with parmesan toast and banana fritters on the side. Grandma’s lemonade is traditional lemonade with an ice cube in the shape of false teeth. When the food arrives, it’s hard to believe it is ice cream.
Icedea also cater for events and create special ice creams for these, such as the world cup ice cream featured below. If you recently attended the Elephant Polo in Bangkok, you may have tried their Hendricks gin flavoured ice cream, an incredibly refreshing treat.
