Most people living in Bangkok have now probably visited one of the branches of Mr Jones’ Orphanage, but I feel it is definitely worth a little promotion. Every single friend that I have taken there whilst visiting me in Bangkok has later said it was one of their favourite places. However, although there are now many branches of Mr Jones’ Orphanage (including Siam Discovery and Central World) I would be inclined to stick to the Scene Space branch in Thong Lo due to the incredible interior.
The interior is made entirely from light coloured wood, and in a sense resembles a tree house. You can sit around a table designed like a carousel, sit in booths with teddy bears swinging from the ceiling, or climb the steep wooden ladder to hide away in the upstairs. Here, you will have to crawl to your table as the ceiling is very low.
When at your table, there is an extensive selection of teddy bears to play with, hug and adopt. They all smell amazing, making us believe they must be washed regularly. There are also pots of small, plastic soldiers and a book case full of books so you can even read to your teddy.
Finally, you can’t forget the cakes. All extremely delicious and served in good portion sizes. A menu is provided but it is recommended to look at the selection displayed in the kitchen downstairs. The cakes are all freshly prepared making the place smell amazing. An extremely cosy way to spend an afternoon.
