Not only is this a weird place to eat, but it doubles up as a karaoke joint. Split over two floors, it is surrounded by karaoke booths and a centre stage where people belt out songs to their hearts content.
The food is average, and mainly Thai food. The highlight for visiting the restaurant is the “flying chicken.” Although not the most delicious meal it is served in style. Once the deep fried chicken has been cooked in the kitchen, it is brought into the centre of the restaurant on a silver platter and the waiters ring a bell to let you know that the show is about to start. Then, a man on a unicycle completes a course of tricks ending in a finale where the chicken from the platter is catapulted into the air and the man on the unicycle graciously catches it on his head! Finally, it is served to your table…
There is also an opportunity to pose for photos on a unicycle with a fake flying chicken helmet. Anyone who participates is given a rubber chicken as a gift.
We visited on a week night so the atmosphere was rather quiet. However, friends who have previously been have said that sometimes the chicken is also set alight and that you are given the opportunity to actually unicyle and try to catch things on your head – not just to pose for photos.
